What is “the certified ingredient for hair loss relief”
that is notified by the Ministry of Food and Drug of Korea?
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety regulates the raw material guidelines (notified ingredients) for the following
functional products among cosmetics distributed in Korea by law; Whitening, wrinkle improvement, UV protection, dye, hair loss relief,
Acne relief, atopy, improvement of stretch marks, etc.
The above ingredients must pass the procedure according to the certified raw materials and clinical test standards notified by the Ministry of Food and
Drug Safety and obtain permission, and then report the production of the product through a simple procedure called 'functional cosmetics exemption item report'
and sell it to consumers.
If a product that does not comply with the relevant laws is discovered, it is subject to confiscation or disposal from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
In addition, in 2017, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety classifies hair loss relief products from 'quasi-drugs' to 'functional cosmetics' and manages them,
and functional ingredients for hair loss relief notified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety are; Niacinamide, Dexpanthenol, Biotin,
L-menthol, and Salicylic acid and Zinc Pyrithione.
Among them, only products containing Dexpanthenol 0.1%, L-menthol 0.3%, Niacinamide 0.3%, Dexpanthenol 0.5%, Biotin 0.06%,
and Zinc Pyrithione 2% can be described and recognized as functional products for relieving hair loss.
In modern medicine, we can say that there is no such an innovative product on the market that brings hair growth, wool, and hair growth.
Therefore, for the management of hair loss, it is important to manage hair loss so that pores are not clogged or hair follicles are
not lost through steady use of hair loss relief products from the beginning.
